Your home. Your AI accounts.

Optional personal Claude and Deepgram connections are now part of dashboard Settings, with separate provider billing.

Two optional connections

You can connect your own Claude API key for interpreting requests and your own Deepgram API key for Hold to Talk transcription in dashboard Settings. Both are optional: without them, requests use your Home Assistant assistant and supported browser speech recognition.

Private keys, separate billing

Keys are private to your account, encrypted and never displayed again. Provider usage is billed directly to your own Claude and Deepgram accounts, helping keep the Hearthlight dashboard free.

Deepgram handles listening only. Spoken replies remain unchanged, and connecting a personal provider does not transfer those spoken-reply costs to your Deepgram account.

Connect when you’re ready

Open your dashboard, choose Settings and find Personal AI accounts. Connect the providers you want to use. A failed personal-provider request does not silently switch to a workspace-funded call.

Voice behavior still depends on your device, browser and Home Assistant connection. Check the voice guide for setup details and the distinction between listening, request interpretation and spoken replies.
